Eeeek! Summer reading! So exciting!!!!

As a busy college student who also works a part-time job and tries to be actively involved in their community, reading often takes an involuntary migration to the back seat during the months of August-May, so believe when I say how excited I am to have the entire summer to binge as many books as possible! I hope you enjoy my top 3 book recommendations from July 2023

  • The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han (series)

Okay so I know I’m a little late to the game when it comes to the Summer I Turned Pretty series, but I seriously love it! I wouldn’t say this is the most profound series I have ever read, and at times it does seem a tad immature for the audience it is directed towards but overall it is a wonderful series that makes for perfect beach reads! Overall, I think the story is super cute, easy to follow and who doesn’t love a good teenage love triangle?!?!? Not to mention it is now a television series on Amazon prime!

  • It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Once again… another book I’m late to, but! I’ve been seeing this book get a lot of hate online recently for being a little cringey, so I decided to read it. And I have to say I couldn’t disagree with that opinion more. This book does a beautiful job of laying out in explicit detail what it is like to suffer domestic abuse first hand, and I even found some parts to be a little hard to read. Plus! Blake Lively is starring in the film adaptation and I couldn’t be more excited! Seriously though, if you feel like trying out Colleen Hoover, you should read this book first. It’s definitely one of her best!

  • It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover

Okay…I’ll be honest. This book took me a little to finish and was kinda slow I must admit, but still an amazing read if you enjoyed the first book of the series It Ends With Us. Although thats my dead honest review, I understand why Colleen Hoover felt the need to take this book at a slower pace given the intensity of its predecessor. It Starts With Us is a breath of fresh air where the audience not only hears of a happy ending from Lily but also from Atlas, so it’s definitely a must read if you enjoyed the first!
